YOUTH MINISTRIES

green-01.png

Our youth ministry consists of Gateway Group (6th - 7th Grade) and Youth Group (8th Grade - High School).  Activities are aimed at building both spiritual and social relationships that allow youth to develop a faith of their own and build lasting friendships.

Sundays   |   9:30a

Come hang out, play some games, grab a snack and enjoy a quick lesson.

Wednesdays   |   7:00p

We like to hang out and have fun, did we say that already? :)

We like to have a few lock-ins, service projects, concerts, bonfires, and more.  To find out more, click the button below.

CHrysAlis

Oakland UMC strongly encourages our youth to attend a weekend retreat called Chrysalis.

A Chrysalis “flight” is a three day journey with Christ for youth ages 15-18 (rising 9th – 12th grades) of any denomination. The purpose of Chrysalis is to support the church’s efforts to guide the spiritual formation of Christian young people. Providing them with an opportunity for spiritual growth and renewal, Chrysalis is a time to experience God’s grace through Christian love and support. The point of Chrysalis is to inspire a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip participants to live their lives as Christians -- at home, church, school, and in the community.

WINTER BLITZ

Our Gateway and Youth Groups attend this annual weekend retreat in Louisville, Kentucky.  This is an awesome experience including music, worship, teaching and youth fellowship. This year we rocked to music by Carrollton, soaked up the teaching of Efram Smith and belly-laughed to comedic antics of 3-2-1 Improv.
